Signs of Storm Damage

  • Shingles missing or in the yard. Wind is the most common cause of storm damage here.
  • A limb on the roof. Falling limbs can puncture a roof.
  • A new leak or ceiling stain. Water often shows up at flashing, valleys and pipe boots first.
  • Loose siding, soffit or gutters. Walk the whole house, not only the roof.

What To Do After a Storm

Walk around your property and look for damage. Get more than one opinion, and don't sign with the first person who knocks on your door.

Storm Damage and Your Insurance.

We work with insurers when the damage justifies a claim. On a small issue we may not bring up insurance at all, and we won't promise that a claim will be approved. Reading your policy is your agent's job, not ours.

How we handle insurance claims

Storm Damage Restoration in Cincinnati: Wind, Limbs and the Rare Hailstorm

Most storm damage roofing advice online was written for places that get a lot of hail. Cincinnati isn't one of them, so here's what storm damage restoration really involves here.

Wind Damage to Shingles

Wind lifts shingles from the edges. Look for tabs that are creased, flipped back or gone, especially along the eaves, rakes and ridge. Wind damage restoration usually means replacing those shingles and checking the seal on the ones around them.

Fallen Limbs

A limb can gouge shingles, crack them, or break through the deck. When the deck is punctured, the wood is repaired first.

Hail Damage

It does happen, but rarely. One of our owners has seen hail damage here once in 12 years. If you're asking about hail damage roof repair, we'll inspect for it and show you what we find, whichever way it goes.

Storm Damage Repair Across Greater Cincinnati

Storms don't hit every neighborhood the same way, and we travel to where the damage is. East of the city we handle storm damage repair in Milford, Loveland, Indian Hill and Anderson Township.

To the north we cover Montgomery and Mason, and our Blue Ash office has its own page for storm damage repair in Blue Ash. In Northern Kentucky we work in Covington, Fort Thomas and nearby.

Wind often damages the roof edge as well as the shingles. If panels or boards are hanging loose under the eaves, see soffit repair in Cincinnati.
