We repair and replace soffit and fascia, the boards and panels along the edge of your roof.
Soffit and fascia sit where the roof, the gutters and the walls meet. When they fail, water and animals get into places they shouldn't.
We're roofers, so we look at the whole edge: the shingles, the drip edge, the gutters and the wood behind them. You'll get photos and a price before any work starts.

Soffit is the underside of the roof overhang, the surface you see when you stand by the wall and look up. It's often vented to let outside air into the attic.
Fascia is the board that runs along the edge of the roof. Your gutters are fastened to it.
Rot from water running behind the gutters, damage from animals, peeling paint, and panels that sag or come loose.
Sagging or missing panels, stains, soft or crumbling wood, and birds or squirrels getting in at the eaves.
We replace the damaged sections and find out where the water came from, so the repair lasts.

Every roof needs intake and exhaust. Air has to come in at the eaves and go out near the ridge, or the roof cooks from the inside out. Good soffit also closes the overhang to weather and animals.
We inspect the roof edge, give you a price, remove the old material, repair the wood behind it, and install the new soffit. It's often done along with a new roof or new gutters.
Peeling paint, dark stains under the gutter line, soft wood, and gutters pulling away from the house.
We replace rotted fascia and install drip edge, the flashing that keeps water off the fascia and sends it into the gutter. Keeping gutters clean is the best thing you can do for the fascia behind them.

We're an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor, Top of the House certified. That certification covers the roof as a system, including the intake air that comes through the soffit.
A SWORD project manager is accountable for every job.
What you get on every job.

Soffit repair looks like a small job from the ground, and sometimes it is. What decides that is how far the damage goes once the first panel is down.
We start at the worst spot and work outward until we reach sound material on both sides. Rot usually runs further than the stain on the surface suggests.
Soffit is fastened to framing under the overhang. If the ends of the rafters or the boards between them have been wet, they're repaired before anything new is attached.
On a partial repair, the new section has to line up with the old in profile and color. We'll tell you how close a match to expect.
If the soffit you have is vented, the replacement is vented too. Closing off intake air to make a repair simpler causes problems in the attic later.

Fascia does two jobs. It finishes the edge of the roof, and it carries the gutters.
It sits right behind the gutter. When the gutter overflows at the back, or when there is no drip edge above it, the board gets wet every time it rains.
Where the damage is local, we cut back to solid wood and replace that length.
When a board is soft along most of its length, patching it isn't worth doing. The whole run comes off and a new one goes on.
Many homes have a metal or vinyl cover over the fascia board. A cover can hide rot for years, so we check the wood behind it and not only the surface.
The gutter has to come off to replace the fascia behind it. That makes the two jobs natural partners.
If your gutters are old as well, replacing both at once means paying for that labor only one time, and the new gutter is fastened to new wood. See our gutter services.
If the gutters are in good shape, we take them down carefully and rehang them with the correct slope when the fascia is done.

Older homes around Cincinnati usually have wood soffit and fascia. Wood looks good and lasts well when it's kept painted and dry. It's also the material that rots when it isn't.
Many homes have vinyl or aluminum instead, or as a cover over the original wood. Vinyl soffit is what we install. These don't need painting. They can still loosen in wind, and they can hide what is happening to the wood underneath.
We'll tell you what your home has, what condition it's in, and what we would put back.

We repair and replace soffit and fascia across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. That includes Indian Hill, Milford, Madeira, Morrow and South Lebanon.
Across the river we work in Fort Thomas, Covington and Florence.
Our Blue Ash office has its own page for soffit and fascia repair in Blue Ash.
We start from the smaller job and only go bigger when the wood tells us to.

Nobody buys a house for its soffit. But the few inches where the roof stops and the wall begins take more water than any other part of the building, and they are the part most often left alone until something falls off.
A quick look twice a year is enough. In fall, check that the gutters are clear before the leaves finish dropping. In spring, look for paint that lifted over the winter and for panels that have shifted.
If you see something you're unsure about, send us a photo or book a free inspection. We'd rather look at ten roof edges that turn out to be fine than have you find out the hard way about one that wasn't.
Look for panels that sag or have fallen, stains on the underside of the overhang, peeling paint, and signs of birds or squirrels getting in at the eaves.
Yes. We replace damaged sections or whole runs, and we find out what was getting the wood wet.
It should be. The roof edge, the drip edge, the gutter and the fascia all work together, and a roofer deals with all of them.
Yes. If the gutters are sound, we take them down and put them back.
It depends on how far the damage runs, how high it is and what the framing behind it is like. We give you a price after a free inspection, before any work starts.
Call us and tell us what you have. We'll let you know whether it's a fit.
Yes. On most homes the attic's intake air comes in through vents in the soffit. Blocked or solid soffit can starve the attic of air, and the roof wears out sooner.
Yes. New gutters fastened to soft fascia will pull loose. We check the board before any gutter goes up.
