Roofers Who Flash It Right
The skylight is tied into the shingles and underlayment around it, by people who install roofs for a living.

We install new VELUX skylights and replace old ones on shingle roofs across Greater Cincinnati. The inspection and estimate are free.

A skylight is an opening cut into your roof. What keeps it dry is the flashing around it, and flashing is roof work. Most of the leaks our repair division is called to are at flashing, valleys and pipe boots, so we know where a skylight is likely to fail and how to stop it.
We install VELUX skylights, and we are a VELUX certified installer. That comes from experience and from VELUX vouching for the work.

We explain what we find, give you the price, and leave the decision with you.

A skylight brings daylight into the middle of a home, where a wall window can't reach.

Old skylights fog up, stain the ceiling around them or start to leak. If yours has seen better days, we can take it out and put a new VELUX skylight in its place.
The best time to do it is when the roof is being replaced, because the flashing around the skylight comes apart with the old shingles anyway. Skylights are one of the things that change the price of a roof replacement, so we count them and price them in your estimate.
Don't open. They are there for light and the view.
Open to let air move through the room. The venting models are solar powered: a small panel on the skylight opens and closes it.
Fastened straight to the roof deck for a low profile.
Sits on a raised frame built up from the roof.

We install it with a project manager overseeing the job, then clean up.
We don't repair leaking skylights. We replace them, and here is why.
Sealant on an aging skylight buys a season at best, and then the stain comes back. A new VELUX skylight goes in with new flashing around it, so the leak is dealt with at the source.
Fog or water between the panes means the glass seal has failed. A cracked frame or a gasket that has gone brittle points the same way. Those call for a new unit.
If the shingles around an old skylight are near the end of their life, replacing both together saves opening the roof twice. You don't have to wait for a new roof, though. We replace skylights by themselves.
