What does a new roof cost in Cincinnati?
A standard 15-square roof, about 1,500 square feet, typically runs $10,000 to $14,000. The pitch of the roof, how cut-up it is, and accessories like skylights and chimney flashing move the number.

Does my roof need to be replaced, or can it be repaired?
We look at how much life your shingles have left, mostly by granule loss, and at what the repair would cost. When a roof has heavy granule loss and the repair would run around 15% of a replacement, we start the replacement conversation. Otherwise we're happy to repair it, and we'll talk you out of a replacement you don't need.
What's under my shingles, and can it change the price?
Under the shingles is wood decking, also called sheathing. When accessible, we inspect attic spaces to limit the amount of surprises on the price. We don't always have access to the attic, whether that's because the homeowner wasn't there, or there's just no access door to get in it, and in those situations it's a to-be-determined. But if we can get in the attic, we're getting in and we're letting you know the condition of your sheathing.
When decking does need to be replaced, a re-deck averages $4,000 to $6,000.
How do most homeowners pay for a roof?

I had Sword come out to repair a leak in my roof where a previous contractor didn't transition correctly from shingles to a metal roof over my deck. They identified the problem and had a good plan to do it right. Finished work looks nice, just waiting on rain to make sure it doesn't leak.
